Welcome to The Constant Reader!

I am proud and excited to welcome you to my little corner of heaven. I have always wanted to open a book store. As a lifelong bibiophile, I have been reading forever. I remember my mom reading chapter books to me before I could read them myself, and then reading them to her once I could. We snuggled up on her queen sized bed and read for hours — starting with Sweet Valley High and The Babysitter’s Club, then on to the Fear Street series, my gateway drug to Stephen King.

I found my first King novel at a garage sale my grandmother was hosting. She was my person — the one I could always talk to and count on, and the one who truly helped foster my love of reading. She was always reading something, and we would often talk about our favorite authors and novels, so it only makes sense that my absolute favorite author would start with an introduction (however unanticipated) from my grandma.

Those of you who are also King fans will recognize the name of my store — I always felt a connection to him through his “Dear Constant Reader” passages in the introductions and conclusions of his novels. It always stuck with me, and I am honoring him with this store.

I have two boys who I am trying to instill the love of reading as well. My oldest boy is reading the Percy Jackson books, and my youngest just finished the Investigators series and is now reading the Last Kids on Earth. Let’s hope they keep it up.
